Mark Congdon, the Honorary Consul of the Philippines in Ireland wishes to confirm as follows.


The Philippine Consulate in Dublin would like to confirm that it is providing active consular assistance to the four Filipino nationals that were on board the fishing vessel “Kairos BF36″ which sank in the early hours of this morning Tuesday 19th May 2015 approximately 75 miles off the coast of the “Isle of Scilly, UK”.

All four along with their Scottish skipper are thankfully uninjured and safely on board the trawler,  “Cu Na Mara” which is due to arrive in Castletown-Bearhaven, Cork at approximately 7.00pm, Tuesday 19th May 2015.

The Philippine Consulate can confirm that accommodation, food and clothing as well as other basic needs are being arranged; further to this the Consulate will be assisting in the repatriation of all four to the Philippines as quickly as feasibly possible.
